Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Technology & Management (LBSITM), Indore organized a National Seminar on “Management Education : New Dimensions” on 5 th July 2014 at Hotel Radisson Blu, Indore.

The programme began with traditional lighting of lamp and paying tributes to the Late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri with a small documentary on him, depicting tremendous abilities of leadership and governance. The welcome speech was given by Dr G L Sharma, Officiating Director – LBSIM, Delhi, the Mentor Institute for LBSITM, Indore. In his opening remarks he assured the people of Indore that the LBSITM, Indore too will enjoy the 100% placement record of LBSIM, Delhi within a short span of time. Dr Praveen Saxena, Professor –LBSITM, Indore and the Seminar Coordinator, called for equal importance to be given to all the stake holders of business education. Chief Guest of the evening, Dr Rishikesh T Krishnan, Director – IIM, Indore emphasized the need of imparting ethical values, creativity and innovation, and more interesting teaching pedagogy in business education. Guest of Honour, Jagdish Verma, Mentor – Indore Management Association, and a seasoned industrialist, underlined the necessity of ground reality, research orientation, collaborative learning, and industry requirement for the Institutions imparting management education. In his presidential address, Mr Anil Shastri, Hon’ble Chairman of LBSIM, Delhi and LBSITM, Indore, highlighted on the attitude of creating (rather than waiting) the opportunity and then availing it. At last the vote of thanks was given by Dr Praveen Gupta, Director– LBSITM, Indore. The whole programme was anchored by two bright students of LBSIM, Delhi.
